*** The Ohio River ***
2002 Trips:

This Photo diary covers
our trip from Cincinnati, Ohio to lake Barkley and kentucky lake via
the Ohio, the Cumberland, and the Tennessee rivers, a distance of
over 1,000 miles. It was our first long trip by boat and one of the
most interesting. The boat was a 2002 Searay 280 Sundancer.
in the fall of 2002 we
traded our Sundancer in on a 33 foot Doral with twin
engines.
the trip to Kentucky lake had given us a love of travel by boat and the
Doral provided just the right combination of size and handling
for our journeys. In October we went up the Ohio from Cincinnati
to Huntington, west Virginia for our last trip of 2003.
2003 Trips:
spring of 2003 was a
difficult time for boating on the Ohio river. rain kept the river
high and we
only made one trip of any significance. we went down river
to Markland dam and spent a few days in a marina on turtle
creek. a beautiful spot.
then in July, I was transferred to a new location and we moved from Cincinnati to
fort Wayne, Indiana. that gave us an opportunity to begin "great lake"
boating and we moved the Get~Aweigh II to marina del isle in Marblehead,
Ohio on lake Erie. in this photo diary of our trip to Markland dam,
you'll see a doe and fawn swimming across turtle creek.
