Lake Huron

If you have any info you would like to share on these marinas, please do so.

Note:  Make sure you click on the pictures of the Marinas for a link to their web sites.

Sarnia Bay Marina:  We've stayed here on our way to and from the North Channel.  Located on the St. Clair River, it provides a quick access to Lake Huron.  There are a couple of restaurants right adjacent to the marina.  It's secure with a locked entrance at night and has been quiet when we've stayed here.  They offer fuel if the fuel docks at Port Huron are closed and you don't have to wait for a bridge to open.

Maitland Marina (Goderich):  We've stopped here on our way North from Sarnia Bay twice to refuel.  We spent the night here on our 2006 North Channel trip as a first night's stop from Marblehead.  Unfortunately we're usually in a hurry to get to Tobermory but this is a very friendly and clean marina.  The town is close by with great restaurants and it would be a pretty place to spend a few days.

Port Elgin Marina:  We stayed the night here in 2005 while enroute to Tobermory.  The waves got up and we decided to get off the lake.  Check your charts and watch your approach to the harbor.  Some food service.  Was surprised that I had to walk into town for oil.  The beach is really nice and the sunset is spectacular.
