At long last, 2005 is the
year we make a long awaited trip to the north channel. over 1,000
miles in
12 days, we circle most of lake Huron, cross Georgian bay, have 3 long
crossings of open water where we encountered no other boats and in general
had the best vacation of our lives. This
first photo diary is of port Elgin, Ontario and Tobermory, Ontario. we
reached port Elgin on our second day and Tobermory on the third.
This Video Shows
the crossing of Georgian Bay from Tobermory and passing lonely island.

The
entrance to Beaverstone bay from Georgian bay.

The
narrow channel into
Beaverstone bay from Georgian bay. Note the pink granite all
around.

We anchored at
burnt
island where we were joined by the muddy rudder and saw a
seaplane land and take off among other things. this video contains some of
the sights and sounds of that anchorage.

To understand what a cruise
like this offers, just watch this video on a cold morning this winter.
It's 3 minutes of
nothing but seeing the bow of the boat turn around the anchor line early
in the morning as we sipped coffee and talked. you may even see
a fish jump if you watch closely.

This
Photo diary includes photos of Beaverstone Bay at Sunrise, Collins
Inlet, Mill Lake, and The Entrance to Kilarney.

This
Photo diary includes photos of Bay Fine, The Pool, Little Current,
Gore Bay, and Presque Isle.
